Here is a test case, but can also happen if low signal strength or some
radio noise.
Take a modern cellular phone and connect the wireless radio (wlan) from
the computer to the phone. When connected walk away from the computer
and put the phone where it is unreachable.
Below are three connection attempts which failed the first time to
properly connect to the VPN-server. Most often the default route is not
set properly and when hung up not all routing entries were always
deleted.
The pptp-plugin reported every time that the connection succeeded.

Netbooks (with Intel Atom) is slower than other modern processors and
therefore takes longer to perform a task. They then often puts the not
responding notice out to display annoying to often.

"No common cd-rom drive was detected" whe
I had a similar problem which made me at first unable to enter the
Ubuntu session. It was caused by my right shift key had not correctly
been recognised as released. Maybe because of at the moment heavy loaded
CPU, missed interrupt.
Steps I used:
1) Leave message
2) Enter password (or all keys tha

I attach a screen shot showing a mysterious redraw. Blue background is
painted on the menu area. Before I took the screen shot I pressed the
"system" menu and it was redrawn immediately. This has happened several
times before.
Natty is installed and I use a traditional Ubunt

When making a link from nautilus and using it from another folder
doesn't set the correct working folder.
Example steps to reproduce:
1) Find a file and make a link to it by right clicking in nautilus.
2) Move the link-file to desktop.
3) Double

bookmark. Happens occationally.

screen does not redraw properly

Another similar bug happens when using CodeBlocks IDE. When scrolling in
an editor and a tooltip is shown, window redraws as in screenshot1.png.
These extra lines sometimes disappear, but are there most of the time.
using: Ubuntu 11.04
This bug never happened in Ubuntu 10.10.

When I write this code as modifiers for menu short cut and compile it
with GCC
GDK_SHIFT_MASK | GDK_CONTROL_MASK
I get an error "invalid conversion from ‘int’ to ‘GdkModifierType’|"
(GdkModifierType) ( GDK_SHIFT_MASK | GDK_CONTROL_MASK )
This works.
Dear Christopher,
When doing your command LibreOffice Calc became non responsive the first
time I tried and I exited LOC by the "Force Quit" panel. The second time
it worked.
This bug is fixed.

This bug has never happened to me after I bought netbooks with harddisks
(faster) instead of SSD. I begin to suspect that this bug is because two
processes compete to start and when using a faster disk, this always
happens as expected.

I have reported a similar issue (bug 345558) and have only seen it on
netbooks with SSD. Are you using SSD when you experience this issue?
After I reported my issue I have had two netbooks with normal harddisks
and my issue has never happened with those ones.
