I haven't been able to identify an action or series of actions which
will recreate this reliably. Notably, I recently updated to Ubuntu 11.04
from 10.10, and Compiz/Unity appears to have been having other,
seemingly unrelated issues handling mouse input (losing bindings for
screen corners, namely).
First of all, thanks for the attention (glad to know this isn't a black
hole for tickets).
Ran into this issue again today, just moments ago. Minimizing and
restoring the application does indeed fix the problem (@Moustafa Chamli,
my right-click menus fail as well, next time yours start failing you

During the Upgrade the screensaver changed and I assumed that all was
well. Today I was prompted to backup and found that my normal automatic
back up was not working and needed to be changed from disk to Google

I used apt policy to see which launchpad ppas are on my system, but did
not see any that were not from Ubuntu. I removed all non-Ubuntu repos
that I could identify. I have tried to run the installer both from the
updater prompt and from the line command with no success.

I don't know if this might work for everyone but a workaround to the
"Cannot refresh cache whilst offline", is to restart the packagekit
service:
