gtkperf 1000 runs takes 36 seconds on 2.6.31
and 10 under 2.6.28

I can't confirm this bug for Ubuntu hardy heron 8.04 LTS, sound is

Ok I'm running Karmic with all updates as of 9th of July 2009. Thats kvm
version 84 and Kernel 2.6.31-2-generic.
I tried booting the GRML Live cd from grml.org (kernel 2.6.28) that worked
flawlessly under Jaunty but it hung itself up in the udev ini

I'm using 32bit by the way. I don't think its graphics card related though
because
the problem also happens when running F-Spot inside Xnest which doesn't depend
much on the graphics hardware.

I think because Gtk is the main subject for causing the effect, this package
should also be referenced.
It might have to do with the fact that the newest Gtk update doesn't sue
seperate X Windows for widgets anymore.

I can't confirm this, I have just installed linux-backports-modules and
linux-backports-modules-generic and am runningt $(uname -) "2.6.22-14-generic"
and sound definitely doesn't work.
Before I rebooted to try this Kernel I was running 2.22-13-generic with sound
working.
So this definitely is
The 24" iMac is the 2. generation, yours does have a Core 2 Duo mine has
a Core Duo, maybe their sound chips are different too.

As the title says buring fails, Nautilus first recognizes that there is a blank
CD-R, but I can't burn anythimng on it because when I click on burn CD it says,

Further investigation with my Edgy Laptop shows, that the card
reader/card combination works there. The dmesg ouput when injecting the
card is:

My hotplugging test now failed, I tried unmounting the sd card with
nautlilus removing and reinserting it but it doesn't come up again and
manual mounting failes as well. Completley removing the card reader
makes the Icons in Nautlilus vanish but replugging it still doesn't
bring my photos back aga
I just tested what happens after a reboot when the card reader with the
card inserted is plugged in for the whole time, it shows that the card
isn't recognized and can't be accessed

Ok investigating another bit, I tested having the reader removed
completely for a few minutes and then plugging it in again, this
apparently made the card come up as should be expected, I'm really
clueless now.

Ok, I have tested this again with a card reader I have borrowed from a friend,
the problem is exactly the same.
One of the symptoms I can reproduce 100% of the time is, that the SD card
doesn't show up after a reboot, I have to unplug the reader, wait a minute and
then plug it in again.
