Related to bug 841508
The "totem-plugin-arte" package fails to build on any architecture since
"libgirepository1.0-dev" >=1.29.16+git20110829-0ubuntu1 so, according to
Launchpad, since last Friday.
(actually it built on i386 and amd64 because there was an older version

I found that this is probably a bug in the gobject-introspection package: the
package fails to build *on any architecture* since package
1.29.16+git20110829-0ubuntu1, so since last Friday.

- One use nouveau (3D enabled) → it works
- One use R600g → it works randomly (but it works most of the time)
- One use R300g → it doesn't work most of the time (except just after booting,

This is really a strange bug.
Here is what I found:
If I "alt+F2 + xkill" *right after login* after *booting*, it works.
This really is the only case where it works for me. I tried many times
(more than 10 reboots last hour).
Especially, it doesn't work:
- when I retry just after it has worked

The dkms module provided by pauls (#60 and #61) fixed the problem for me.
(it mays used tob patch, but the dkms module sounds like a cleaner way to
install it).

Same problem here, my touchpad stops working as soon as the "connected"
notification appear.
However, if I press some random keys to go to a menu or into a directory, the
touchpad then goes back to life after 5-10 seconds.

by default in search results but under a subsection such as "Advanced
utilities".
The software-center is going to replace Synaptic so it also has to be
suitable for "advanced"/"experienced" users.
But being "advanced" doesn't
I must add that, currently, I don't think many beginners will notice and
click the "Show technical items" link. So, for them, what is not
displayed may just not exist...
So displaying such an "advanced" subsection by default may also be a
workaround for packages such as mine that do not have (yet)

The new version is in experimental since more than three weeks.
I also maintain a ppa for this package (

So far, no one complained about this new version, so I assume it is

Successfully tested on eoan.
I enabled the proposed repository, upgraded everything (so including pulseaudio
13.0-1ubuntu1.1) then rebooted.
The audio device is no longer switched to HDMI when the screen wake up after
