Using VLC 1.1.4 on Ubuntu 10.10. When I try to stream my Desktop (and
transcoding it with h264), the image I stream is always stretched
laterally. This also happens when I stream from a webcam (v4l2): the
image is stretched vertically. Note that if I

bytes.
Except if you wait enough time (didn't measure exactly but 1 minute is
enough) it'll start filling with data.
Increasing the framerate reduce the delay.

When I tested it again, and let it run for more than a minute, I got a
file which is not empty, but it is still unplayable. Please find
attached the resulting test file. I used the following output string:
:sout=#transcode{vcodec=h264,vb=1500,fps=25,scale=1,width=640,height=480,acodec=mp4a,ab=128,
The file actually plays just fine. However it will not play (in any
other player includinc VLC) UNTIL after the session with VLC has been
closed. It would be great if the all process would be more
transparent...

All right, I found the issue. The file will not play in any other player
UNTIL after VLC has been closed. After that it plays just fine.
So to make sure you have a usable file:
1. Wait a few seconds before stopping the stream.
2. When done with the stream, close VLC. the file now should be usable

Grace does not get stuck in an infinite loop. What happens is that a
window in the background asking for the permission to overwrite comes
up, waiting for an answer. Now, since the request panel doesn't show up
in front of the device panel it looks like grace is stuck in the loop.

Attached two patches for this bug. The first (nonlinear_extended_2.diff)
overwrites the original patch for bug #535459, while the second can be
applied on top of that.

I uploaded the new patches with both the cumulative and probability
density distributions. Test builds are available soon in the grace-
extended ppa.
I also submitted the patches in the debian bug report (where they will
most likely be applied).
Please let me know if more function are needed.

When MPlayer (v. 2:1.4+ds1-1) is compiled with FFMPEG 4.4 (which is now
in Impish) compilation fails. Log:
