Public bug reported: gpac is currently in version 2.2.1 in debian Sid and not available in Ubuntu newer than Noble, because of its lack of support for FFMpeg 7. Upstream has gpac in version 2.4 which is compatible.
I ported version 2.4.0 and created a full set of packages, source files (debian.tar.xz, orig.tar.xz, dsc), etc: https://launchpad.net/~bleedingedge/+archive/ubuntu/noble- bleed/+sourcepub/17011648/+listing-archive-extra These packages work as expected, and by bringing support for ffmpeg 7, it makes it compatible with recent versions of Debian/Ubuntu (including sid and plucky). It also enables porting of packages that depend on gpac (such as ccextractor) to these platform. It would be great if this would be ported officially into debian/Ubuntu. ** Affects: gpac (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: gpac (Debian) Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Patch added: "Full patch from 2.2.1 to 2.4.0" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2099279/+attachment/5859097/+files/gpac_2.2.1+dfsg1-3.1build2ppa1~noble1_2.4.0+dfsg1-0ppa1~noble1.diff.gz ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #1098400 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1098400 ** Also affects: gpac (Debian) via https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1098400 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2099279 Title: Upgrade package to version 2.4.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gpac/+bug/2099279/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
