This is fixed with newer SDL_mixer versions. If this error still occurs
in current Ubunut-versions, please update the SDL_mixer package to
latest official release and recompile Widelands afterwards.

It seems as if some compilerflags are missing in the script for the ubuntu
packjage.
This leads to the problem that Widelands can't find the locales (no
translations) and that Build13 shows "UNKNOWN REVISION" as version in game.

A lot of people already mentioned this problem in our chat and our
forums, so I now set it to confirmed myself.
Would be nice if someone would care for this bug - shouldn't be too hard
to recompile a package with just some different compiler flags.

After a discussion in ubuntu-user-forums, we saw, that the package
widelands-data does not contain the following directorys
*locale
*game_server
*music
*sound
Without the locale-folder, widelands can't be run in translated mode. So
the translation-support is unusable -> furt
Please also look at

is really important (as long as this bug wasn't the reason, why you want
to build a new package.:) )
And as I know from debian-packager, this bug mentioned above is solved
in newer versions, but please test
No it's most likely not bug 732436 - it's simply that the debian/ ubuntu
package of build16 were not complete. The language files were missing.
(or maybe that was the problem in build15 and build16 is another) -
however other distributions don't have such a problem (just naming
Mandriva, Mageia, Fe
This was a known problem with newer gcc versions. It is fixed in
lp:widelands/build15 - so if you want to compile build15 please check it
out.
However better compile Build16 - it's more stable and contains security
updates.
