I suspect that this could be due to Microsoft changing the SMB protocol

Thanks very much -- did an apt-get install xine-ui, apt got that as well
as an updated libxine module. I already had libdvdread, libdvdnav and
libdvdcss. Once xine-ui was loaded DVDs load normally and offer full
menu functionality through Totem.

get the flash plugin? Was it from the Ubuntu repos, or a third party

on converting the database. Due to sqlite 2.x being in universe, it's
not a simple matter of converting if the database format is old, and
this only occurs when upgrading from old versions that were in universe,
or from old rele

Yes, just because universe is not supported by Canonical, it doesn't
mean it can't get security updates. In this case, the source for krb5 is
in main, while some binaries (krb5-user) are in universe.
