Ok, try as I might I cannot reproduce this so far (typical).

Bingo, I've got it...! Knew I would in the end.
I had overlooked that I had previously tried a suspend/resume before the

it's an area of interest in Jaunty).

I had a complete lockup on restore from Suspend - hard disk light solid on,

I've had hibernate issues since 8.10 too on my Inspiron 9400. Karmic
will suspend once and/or hibernate once per boot, then hangs on the next

I would love to test this on Lucid but it won't even boot... the screen

I also cannot get Suspend or Hibernate to work on my Dell 9400, in both
cases all I get is a blank screen (still powered on) but no response and
the laptop is totally unresponsive.
Mind you, suspend and hibernate on this have never been good since 8.04 LTS,
it's just got gradually worse over time

My 9400 had the ATI x1400 card and neither suspend nor hibernate work at
all. Both functions simply result in a blank screen (still powered on)

Just a slight off-topic. I do not believe that bug #513890 is
necessarily a duplicate of this (which is nVidia focused) as I have
suspend/hibernate issues with a Dell 9400 which is ATI based (more
details to be found in #513890).

I know it isn't a perfect solution but, as a temporary workaround and to
take the pressure off the developers, I've discovered that there is a

There are three options, surely? Use the mediatomb build flags to
produce a static build, that way it won't break each time xulrunner
changes. True, it means it is using out of date code but at least it
doesn't have to be rebuilt each time.

I'd love to try what you described "...you can do dpkg-source -x
