I'm also having the same issues. I also noticed that doing:
$ killall gnome-volume-manager
Alt+F2 /usr/lib/gnome-volume-manager/gnome-volume-manager
Will allow you to mount the usb device correctly 1x, successive mounts after
dismounting fail unless you 'restart' gvm.
I can attach logs on request,
It's obviously spam, which is annoying by itself.
Please don't add to the annoyance by sending useless "What???" e-mails to
everyone in the mailinglist.

I'm having the same issues with the combination of zsh+Terminator and zsh+Guake.
As soon as I open either Terminator or Guake I get:
