I can confirm this in Ubuntu 9.04 too with LyX 1.6.2.
The spellchecker (german) behaves strangely and basically isn't working.
I'm going to investigate this further.

I must admit that I can't reproduce the bug, but I remember a similar problem I
had years ago.
It seems that the printing/display problems have something to do with
documents, which were created with some sort of TeX.
You must know that font-handling (embedding) is often a cause for problems.

I printed from Openoffice several pages in duplex and everything works.
I only have an altered configuratoin from the default install. I'm using a
clean feisty install.
I chose the BRScript3 driver instead of the Postscript one. (it comes with

I can confirm the duplex printing problems with the Brother HL-5150D (with
Postscript driver)
I'm currently running Feisty.
In the past I tried all imaginable configurations/combinations without success
- and I gave up.
(But I never understood this, because with CUPS on my old G3 iBook printing

The CPU utilization time is very high.
The beam.smp process is preventing the CPU from idling.
This could be the reason that Natty is using so much battery power!

There could also be another reason for the high power consumption.
A process called "beam.smp" is using constantly a little bit cpu and could
prevent it going to sleep and thus power saving state.
