Finally, I solved this problem myself.
I found another driver on:

It is a PIXMA MP1000 driver, but it works great with my PIXMA MP110.

Yes, I talked about the 8.602 version.
It doesn't work for me in jaunty, as well as the version from its
repository (8.600). As I said, I always get screen corruption with those
drivers when starting up and then it freezes. So that's why I can't
accurately tell you what has changed.

compatible driver for it.
So I searched the net and found, that PIXMA MP110 is almost compatible with the
iP1500 driver.
However, neither this driver is listed in the Ubuntu printers driver list.

In my computer, there is one IDE disk and one SATA disk.
On Feisty, they were identified as hda (hd0 in GRUB - IDE) and sda (hd1 in GRUB
- SATA).
But Hardy identifies them as sdb (hd0 in GRUB - IDE) and sda (hd1 in GRUB -

In DOOM3 and Hydrogen, I had to manually set to OSS sound driver, becouse the

It's not ok, especially becouse of the mismatch between Ubuntu and GRUB
numbering.
All drives recognized by Ubuntu as (hd1) must be then manually remapped to
(hd0) and the same with (hd0) recognized by Ubuntu.

fglrx causes segmentation fault on boot
The installation is just about running:
chmod +x amd*
./amd* --buildpkg Ubuntu/trusty
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
But you would need to install some build dependencies (exact steps
should be here:

This problem persists in tvtime 1.0.2-6.1ubuntu1 from Maverick
repository using latest and updated Ubuntu Maverick Meerkat RC.
It can be solved by installing the patched (and also older) tvtime

I can confirm this behavior since fglrx 12.11 if I am right. The only
exception was fglrx-updates package from Ubuntu 13.04 repository which I
am using now (the fglrx package from the same repository causes system
freeze like all the other versions do).

Using the latest oneiric developement kernel version 3.0.0-12.19, the
card reader doesn't work either.

I have a Valgrind log using a wrapper for /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd-gphoto2 as
Sebastien adviced.
However, I have not managed to copy more than a 19MB (RAW photo file), thus I
am not sure if it will help. All bigger files (videos) ended up with time out
error as the Valgrind memchecks take probably to
