I have the same problem. In my computer, there is one IDE disk and one SATA disk. On Feisty, they were identified as hda (hd0 in GRUB - IDE) and sda (hd1 in GRUB - SATA). But Hardy identifies them as sdb (hd0 in GRUB - IDE) and sda (hd1 in GRUB - SATA).
Also for me the GRUB identifies them correctly, although Hardy not. It caused that I had to manualy edit the menu.lst after successful installation of Hardy. But I winced at the chipset you wrote that you have. I have exactly the same, VIA VT8237 on my MSI K8M Neo-V motherboard. -- SATA and IDE drives mixup on install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/223334 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
