problem. Stupid question.. did U write "sudo make install" ? If yes,
with "lsmod | grep af9015" (as root) U can find out if the module is
loaded.

I'm glad I could help. However, in my case it wasn't necessary to manually load
the module. I believe this should happen automatically when one connects the
device.. funny things happen.
You can delete the folder in your home directory but it can be useful as long
as you don't make a kernel upda
This means the module isn't loaded at all. First check if your stick
really needs this module and not another. The device we are talking
about should be visible with "lsusb" like "Device 002: ID 15a4:9016".

It`s still happening on 8.10. However, after updating to the newest
compiz (compiling from source) the problem dissapeard. So I believe it

Well.. I have the same problem. When I Plug in the stick, all I get with
lsusb is this line:

I've had this problem since the first time I tried playing back mkv
files with vlc and this was about 3 years ago on windows. Also, playing
back mkv files is not as smooth with vlc as with other players like
mplayer or any windows player I tried, but this is probably another

Same here.. Ubuntu 8.10, fresh install. NetworkManager crashed at bootup
and in order to have internet acces I had to start in manually (sudo
NetworkManager). It happens pretty often, about every 2nd time. It
might be possible, that the problem appeared after the last kernel

I want to add that the last three driver updates solved almost all
issues. 9.7 solved scale and performance problems with XV. 9.8 solved
flickering problem with OpenGL and finally the XV performance got even
better with 9.9. For all Ubuntu versions it's really easy to build
packages with the execut

problem appears when one reorders the files in the open-file-dialog by date for
example. If one does so, then nothing can be chosen any more. One has to close
the window and reopen it.

On Ubuntu 13.10, windows minimize to their corresponding icons on the
launcher. If the Launcher is hidden, the icon pops out when the window
is minimized. This is not the case in Ubuntu 14.04. If the launcher is
not hidden, the animation works as expected.

cannot choose several items from the menubar, neither using a mouse or the HUD.

Without the indicator-appmenu package, the menu in Libreoffice works
just fine.
The issue occurs also after adding an OLE-Object or a diagram.
