I am using F-Spot 0.4.0-0ubuntu3 in Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon
In the import dialog, I choose an import source. Previews of pictures available
in that import source are then loaded.
These previews can be selected. When I click on "Import", I expect

When I boot, I regularly end up with a corrupted applet panel containing
duplicated applets and missing others.
It's not always the same applets that are missing or duplicated and it
sometimes happen that only the half of the applet icon appears.

Same problem as comment #16, with apache2 not starting, but on a fresh
10.04 install.

I cannot confirm the behavior you're describing.
In case of duplicated applets, one of the icons has the expected behavior on
click, but the other one is just not responding to any action.
So, in the scenario of the attached screenshot, I can't access my wi-fi network
manager, even by clicking on
Just deactivated the desktop effects completely. The duplicated applets
disappeared but were not replaced by the missing ones. They left 'blank' spots
in the applet panel instead.
I'm rebooting to see whether I experience the same issue on boot with the
desktop effects deactivated.

I deactivated the desktop effects, and rebooted the computer. I tried twice and
had no applet issue. I reactivated the desktop effects and rebooted and the
applet panel now doesn't show the login applet but shows the "IM/Ubuntu" one
applet twice.
The bug seems to be indeed related to desktop eff
