The issue is the same on Windows version of Firefox 3b5 (Firefox Portable).
Since I'm using it from an USB drive with an activity led, I've noticed a
*permanent* activity and the latest modified file is places.sqlite !
Accessing my USB drive is very slow whenever Firefox Portable is
running, and
Moreover, it's not urlclassifier3.sqlite but places.sqlite which is rewritten
too often.
It happens even after a long time since Firefox has been started.
Maybe the whole sqlite system embedded in Firefox3 is doing this ?

I attempted to boot with all USB devices plugged in, and received the
errors you see in the screenshot.
You'll see a lot about USB devices. See also the errors on /dev/sda
(internal SSD) on 3 and 4. I have also been unable to boot because
/dev/sda was a problem, as a standalone issue, but for what

Maintaining `update-initramfs` for added control and compatibility for
the transition seems a good idea.
I am wondering if instead of calling `dracut` directly from `update-
initramfs`, it should call `kernel-install add-all` and let `kernel-
install` call `dracut`.

I can verify the bug is still in Jaunty. Using NVidia driver version
180.44 (recommended driver) on a GEForce Go 7900 GS with Compiz enabled.
I used Savvas Radevic's fix as a workaround & it works but at the cost
of disabling screen savers.

As a recent ubuntu convert I can honestly say that the current behavior
of "Create Document" is completely useless. How often do "regular" users
want to create an "Empty File"? At a minimum templates should be
installed for creating:
1. OO Word Processor file
2. OO Spreadsheet
3. Text File (to rep
As a snew Ubuntu user (non-programmer), I like David Siegel's mock-up on
post #10 best.
