ALEX,I can confirm this issue too with my belkin f5d7050-4 ver 3002, its a
rt73 device, it seems this bug has been plaguing ubuntu since pre-feisty
because they have two different drivers with the same usb id in it which is
causing a conflict, it looks whoever is in charge of the drivers is too laz

hey tim, i installed that and removed rt73usb from blacklist and
blacklisted my custom rt73 driver from serialmonkey and it completely
locked up my system when I attempted a connection, and it named wlan0
rausb0, on a side note you may be getting somewhere because it didnt
look like there was 2 dri
ok just a note, rt73 scans but has a wmaster0 wifi connection that I
believe is interfering... I am able to scan but not connect with the
standard drivers, my configuration is fine and there seems to be a
conflict somewhere, dhcp and static configs dont work... I believe there
is an issue with the

Well it seems Fedora and PcLinuxOS got it right, isnt Ubuntu supposed to be

yea, im running serialmonkey drivers myself with rt73usb blacklisted, for
some reason wpa with serialmonkey drivers is not working any longer so now
im back to insecure wep because it causes a complete system lockup, its
truly unfortunate I have seen these opensourced drivers not work in Ubuntu
for
anyone have a rt73 working with this? I havnt checked mine out yet, waiting
till I get home from work

ralink drivers as well as leaving them all allone, still not working, I get
wmaster0 and wlan0 in iwconfig and my configuration is fine when using drivers

same problem here as well, running latest Gutsy Beta as of 10/6/07 with all
updates:
Gnome takes a minute to load on my P4 3.0 ghz 768 meg ram, effects off and
nothing else running, default install. Nothing swapping, ram is fine, feisty
loaded gnome up instantly after password screen, now 60+ s
CONCURRENCY=shell in /etc/init.d/rc caused the problem for me, I had to
set it back to CONCURRENCY=none and my problem was solved for gutsy beta

it seems the live cd has the same issue x10 since it loads off a live cd, i
got 1 gig of ram and a 24x drive and feisty live cd loaded in seconds, now
it takes 5 min for gnome to load, it takes a full minute after reboot then
login to load up gnome in gutsy when feisty took 20 secs

also I did not experience any laggy video in Feisty or any issues, I was happy

I found the problem, it has to do with compiz, when I have desktop-effects
enabled and 16bit color, I have little dots all over the video, when I disable
compiz/desktop-effects I do not get the dots all over the screen.
So this seems to be a compatibility issue or problem with compiz and i810

one problem I am having as well in the driver is I get a pinkish tint to
the panel's at the top and bottom as well as open applications that are
greyish
