Public bug reported:
Ever since upgrading from Hardy to Intrepid (but never before then; I've
been using Ubuntu since Edgy), I've had a strange problem. Each power
cycle, after I boot up, the sound works fine. And after I suspend to
RAM, resume, and, e.g., play something on Rhythmbox, the sound st

Actually, it appears that I can restore the sound a bit quicker by
logging out of my GNOME session, running "sudo alsa force-reload", and

I switched to the final release of Jaunty a couple of days ago. Suspense
and sound both work normally now, though I did have to add "options snd-

desktop has been empty of icons, even though everything I left in
~/Desktop is still there. Changing the contents of ~/Desktop doesn't
help, and if I try to drag-and-drop a file onto the desktop, it stays
I finally got access to a CD burner over spring break, so I was able to
test Alpha 6. Unfortunately, under Jaunty, I wasn't able to get any
sound at all, and when I tried to resume from suspense, the screen
stayed black even after the computer sounded like it had come back to
life.
