Jostein: I left my machine powered off for about an hour, tried again,
and now it's working. Guess that fixes it for me.
However, it seems like multicast is still not supported with this
driver, because Avahi's mdns-scan still can't find any services not
running on localhost.

Just upgraded to Jaunty. It doesn't work for me. :(
dmesg indicates that the card has been detected and drivers have been
loaded successfully, but I can neither see the WPA2 Personal network
that I have here, nor connect to it by name. This was working until the
upgrade; three other machines here
Jostein: yes. the interface is up and dmesg says everything is fine, but
network manager and iwscan can't find or join any wireless networks.
Taking boskicinek's suggestion to try powering off for a while...

Sorry, should have clarified that. Gmail works in Firefox without
issues.
I've tried enabling and disabling the Greasemonkey extension for
Epiphany but that made no difference (I don't have any GM scripts
installed anyway).

There's nothing in my xorg.conf, but this is an Intel 945 GME chipset,
so I guess the intel driver.
FWIW, the hardware is an MSI Wind U100 laptop with 1024x600 resolution
display and 1.6 GHz Atom processor. OOo 3.0 is unusually slow relative
to the rest of the system.

Just tried -- makes no difference, even after restarting OOo. In any
case, the 1s redraw time I mentioned may be exaggerated. It's a split
second, but long enough to notice and certainly long enough to capture
mid drawing.
I suspect the video driver is misconfigured, since I only get ~500fps in

Compiz version: 1:0.7.8-0ubuntu2
All animations for new windows have been disabled, but problem persists.
Problem does not manifest for windows restored from minimise. It is only
seen with newly mapped windows.
