Using the command "xset b [volume] [pitch] [duration]", I've found that
adjusting the first value does not adjust the volume at all, only the
duration. The third argument also adjusts the duration.

Huh, for reasons I don't fully understand, I no longer get this error
message. Maybe it takes two reboots for the BIOS change (enabling
virtualization) to take effect.

Connect to Wireless network
Open a terminal
sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list
uncomment the universe lines and also append " multiverse" to the ends
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install sun-java5-jre

manually change some permissions or install some software onto the

A workaround is to edit the "pass" field in /etc/fstab to be 0 for the
btrfs partitions, which will skip file system checking on boot.
However, why file system checking is even done at all on btrfs (the
manpage of btrfsck says "not suitable for any uses other than
benchmarking and review") is anot
I've discovered that this behavior can also occur with the installer
(similar to bug 1900130) when the USB stick to which the installer ISO
was written is bad. (In this case, the error message is saying exactly
what it should be saying.)
