I have noticed this as well. It might have something to do with JS.
After modifying the JavaScript options in Firefox, it still happens on
occasion, but much less frequently than before. From the Firefox menu
bar, select Edit > Preferences. Click the Content tab. Next to 'Enable

Have you tried setting up keyboard shortcuts? I do not have a multimedia
kb, so I just set the 'volume mute' command to the numpad asterisk key,
since I never use it.

So you have it setup as a dual-boot system, where you choose which OS to
boot when you boot up the laptop? There isn't an 'easy' way to do it,
but you can try this-
First you need to remove GRUB:
1. Insert the Windows Setup CD into the CD or DVD tray on your computer.
2. Restart your comput
I do not have the NoScript extension. I don't think it would be related
to that, though, since unchecking the 'Disable or replace context menus'
button basically tells firefox to disable the sites JS settings on
right-click. For instance, some sites write a script into the page that
disallows right
However, if the problem is just a faulty Ubuntu install, you may first
want to try just re-installing it. Give it a try! If you follow the same
steps taken to install from the Ubuntu CD, when you get to the partition

PS, The above only worked for me using the Gutsy LCD. The Hardy LCD will
not let you leave the partition unformatted.

And again, you may want to check your mouse sensitivity setting. In
firefox, when you right-click a link and hold down the button, then
select an action and release the button, it will act as though you had
clicked that action. It could just be that when you right click you move

That worked for me, thanks! Mouse keys was on. The weird thing is it
only started happening after I upgraded to Intrepid. Does Intrepid
automatically select that option? Because I never changed anything...

Is it possible that since you became root to 'touch' the file, that is
why the removal didn't generate a warning? Maybe you remained root to
the system? Maybe try 'sudo touch bla' on a file in a different folder
and see if you can then remove it without sudo.
