Unchecking 'Available to all users' in Network Manger settings for all
my connections did NOT solve the issue for me.
However, disabling plymouth - by uninstalling plymouth-theme-ubuntu-logo
and plymouth-theme-ubuntu-text - DID SOLVE the issue. I can now reboot
cleanly.

Yes, it was working before applying the patch and the option is checked
under system settings. I repeated the whole process and was still not
working. Then I erased my /home/user/.conf/dconf folder and restarted,
and finally it was working.

Y confirm the post #31. Plugging and unplugging a pendrive in the USB2 port
shows nothing in dmesg. The same pendrive works correctly on the USB3 port.
The same with a wireless mouse, other two pendrives, and two different webcams.

My desktop is a Dell Inspiron 530s with e1000e 82562V-2 Ethernet

I have the same problem in Ubuntu 11.10. If I uninstall sni-qt and
whitelist Qjackctl, it shows correctly in the system tray. So I guess
the problem is with sni-qt when converting the tray icon into an
appindicator.

My motherboard have an integrated ALC883 sound chip.
And everything works fine outside Skype, playback and recording.
When I set Skype playback to work with pulseaudio it works for some
seconds then the entire sound system seems to crash, no more sounds,

I discovered my previous problem was related with the power source.
Without external power, the kernel was able to identify the drive but
nothing else. Connecting to a working power supply solved my problem

The DKMS package works for me. Compilation from the source also worked.
Please check you have the right hardware. In my case, "lsusb -v"
reports:

Changing /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/20-ntfs-3g-policy.fdi with
the sugested changes solved my problem (with the permanent NTFS
partitions).

Sorry for the lack of answer. Here is the missing info (the lspci
-vvnn). I tried the ppa drivers but the problem is still there.

AM/PM is the standard time notation.

I can confirm the same issue of Obed Arbel, when I close the lid i get
the freezes, I don't get the freeze by doing hard work on the laptop or
using compiz, I am using the lastest intel driver available. I will try
to ssh to the machine next time to get some information.

Oh this is sad, I thought it was going to be solved for Karmic, we would
have to still doing it manually and searching in google for a solution,

I have recovered the commands received. Looks like a bot trying to make the PC
download a virus and run it.
Two ubuntu boxes with vino enabled received the commands. I repeat: its like
someone has remote control of the keyboard and type those commands asuming that
it is a windows box.
