Public bug reported: When I try to run update manager, I get the following message:
Could not calculate the upgrade An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade. Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message: 'E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.' Please note that I'm running ubuntu 10.04 and simply checking for udpdates, not trying to upgrade to more recent release. When I try to determine the package version via 'apt-cache policy pkgname', I get: Unable to locate package pkgname ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1100992 Title: Unable to run update manager To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/1100992/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
