Can you please try to remove your entire Thunderbird profile and try
again. Believe the profile is located in ~/.mozilla-thunderbird
directory. I use Thunderbird and IMAP as well and do not have any
problems viewing source of mails.

Next time apport wants to report a but please make sure that you are
logged out of launchpad before submitting the bug.
Thanks for the bug report. First of all please make sure that you
upgrade to the latest version of FireFox. I have 3.0.5+nobinonly-
0ubuntu0.8.10.1 installed on my 8.10 and a security advisory (USN-690-1)
have also been send out recommending upgrade to above version.
If the problem still persists
Thanks for the report. I have the same experience as duanedesign. In
full screen it looks correct, but if a make the windows more and more
narrow the login box to the left disappears at some point. I just tried
Firefox on Windows in VMware and the behavior is exact the same.
I have used Firefox 3.
And it is still an issue. Suggest mirror is either removed or it is
fixed.

1. Have you installed all updates to 8.10?
2. What type of connection do you have? Wireless, ethernet...?
3. Have you checked the auto connect check box when you create a new connection?
