I have been using 8.04 for a while now, and the problem seems to be
completely gone. Using the standard gnome system.
When I was using 7.10 I tried rtorrent, and thats when I had the most

I'm on a dell inspiron 1501. Randomly my keyboard stops reacting, if I
try to shut down it hangs on a black screen with som cryptic signs on
it. If I want to turn it of, then I have to hold the power button in.

I read a comment on ubuntuforums that indicated there was something
wrong with the way ubuntu used unfree drivers. So I uninstalled the
unfree driver for bcm43xx, rebooted and so I installed the package found
here:

Didn't seem to make a difference.

When I boot the laptop it works kind of, but x won't start. So I could't
just do a "startx", but the machine acts strange when I do this and
sometimes the screen just goes black when I do this and I have to do a
hard reset.

I tried to reproduce the crash as well, but no cigar. The last thing I
did before it crashed was to click a torrent, clicked the butten with
the gear icon, selected "choices" (this is in norwegian so I'm not sure
about the wording) the tab furtermost to the right, marked the little
