Greetings from .CZ
I believe the ultimate solution for this bug is hidden in this article
(http://limulus.wordpress.com/2007/08/13/2010-the-year-of-the-linux-
desktop).
The history teaches us that Windows didn't win "the desktop wars"
because it was the best available choice at the time... on the
Don't get me wrong - I never made the assumption you mentioned. The
point is, that even if the ratio is much lower (say 2:8), the GNU/Linux
user base will start growing much faster and at some point all the
problems with 3rd-party support will be gone, leaving only the bugs
causing problems with us
As I said, this issue is most notable with laptops - would you guys
really be comfortable with paying more for the same or inferior hardware
to get the laptop clean or would you rather buy a better one with
bundled Windows and then take a long shot on trying to get your money
back for unused licens
Ordcestus, you get that right and I really appreciate all your hard work. I
wished I had the resources to do as much as you're doing right now but believe
me I'm definitely not "the user
who sits on his hands warming them
with his own exhaust while everybody else
does the work".

2 Conrad:
I just posted something like this on that thread on our forums while voting
"sort of...". When I was discussing the thing with one of my "Windows fellas",
he said hi likes the idea and suggested something practically the same
approach, so nobody would probably object against this since

That happens for me, too. I have narrowed it down to the Animations
plugin. In a console I get this error:
The program 'thunderbird-bin' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.

Public bug reported:
Buffer-size part of the first played sound always gets stuck in the loop until
the program generating that sound is terminated. I started a thread on our
forums to discuss this and the issue was reproduced by another user. Sound chip
is ALC889A on GA-MA790X-DS4 motherboard.
The cutoff is now 46 pixels, so "Normal" still has a one-line tray. I
wouldn't say there's any problem, but it seems like there's plenty of
room for two lines of tray icons at the "Normal" size of 46. To me this
is a UI/usability issue, so I don't want to make any decisions on it,
but I do think
