Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
I am no expert but it seems that FF crashes and hangs and eventually causes Ubuntu 9.04 64 bit to crash. I looks like it happens after video content is viewed, (Like on CNN video) It could be related to a problem with theGnome version of Ubuntu ... 11. After two crashes I did change to ...12 the newest one for Ubuntu 9.04 however in the past I just get the feeling that it is related to the flash plugin and or Java and it is too bad that Firefox does not have a better way to install adobe flash player within Ubuntu. As of today this most recent install has not crashed, causing a catche to remain open and the synaptic to not work and when it is going to crash it will say Firefox is running after you have closed it, and it is not visible on the desktop. It almost seems like some web page code is writing to where the grub is, but again I am no expert. I did add arora browser and did not add epiphany so if it does happen I will have a way to try to google for help. I do wish however that more security and better plugin support came from FF. The older versions of Ubuntu seem to not be having any problems, 8.04 on a 32 bit laptop seems fine but the 64 bit version I think is having some issues. Apart from that I hope a fix comes soon.... We will not use video news and we did install the opt out cookie add on this time, in case it is a cookie causing the problems.
