Apparently this is an issue with the sqlite database being 2.x and not
3.x. Doing
cd ~/.gnome2/f-spot/
mv photos.db photos_sqlite2.db
sqlite photos_sqlite2.db .dump | sqlite3 photos.db

I've changed my usage of 3ddesktop, and while the symptoms in this
report is still a problem for the switcher, it's not important to me any
more.
I've bound keys to "3ddesk --goto=N" where N is 1-4 for different
workspaces. Since I'm not using the visualization for browsing for a
desktop any more
IMO a documented problem is still a problem.
But since this particular issue only affects people using 3ddesktop for
browsing for desktops, and I'm not, I won't bother with re-opening.

Same problem but with Edgy. Kaffeine has worked without problems ans
then it can not find the DVB-T card.

The second core does go to 100% CPU frequency on resume. Top reports no
load on the system and /proc/interrupts looks fairly evenly balanced
between the cores. It seems that /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq
not being there makes powernowd unhappy though:

/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq not existing on cold boot - it

Kernel 2.6.24-7-generic works fine, but the bug (i.e, no sound) has
reappeared in kernel 2.6.24-8-generic. To be more specific, I'm running

With the force_scofix option mentioned above, the headset now works as
well as it ever has. For the most part, it works okay with headsetd but

I have the same issue here. Ever since upgrading my X41 to Hardy i have
frequent crashes (anywhere between 5 mins to several hours between). The
screen just blanks and keeps blank. I can't even type CTRL+ALT+F1 to

This is with the restricted driver - I don't think the nv driver works
with my card. I'll get a picture of the corruption, probably tonight.
Roughly speaking, you can tell it's the shutdown screen but the graphics
is only displayed as outlines and in very dark colours.

A proposed solution:
Have linux-image-$VER provide a trigger called update-initramfs-$VER,
and have maintscripts activate that trigger. When purging linux-
image-2.6.24-12-generic, the trigger code for 2.6.24-12-generic would
just vanish before getting called.

I might add that update-initramfs currently ends up being called twice
in a row when dpkg first removes linux-ubuntu-modules-$VER and then
purges it. Using a versioned trigger would reduce the number of calls to
one, or to zero if the equivalent linux-image package is removed as

I know how xorg works. When I first installed ubuntu, X didn't start
either and I had to install the restricted driver from console. The
screen is not turning white, it's actually very dark, darker than it
looks in the picture.

Is there a reason for patching the xv driver to support both compiz
video and xv instead of creating a separate compiz video output driver
for mplayer, which would then fall back to xv if compiz video isn’t
available? All other output methods have separate plugins (e.g. xv, x11,
opengl, sdl, frameb

I ran into this as well. Zabbix won't start after install because of
