To recreate this issue start by disabling power saving and hw encryption
while your laptop is plugged in.
Power saving can be turned off at module load time, or with iwconfig
[dev] power off

The best fix for the horrid performance this causes is to create a file
in /etc/pm/power.d/ containing the "iwconfig wlan0 power off" command.

There is a long delay starting FTP connections from KDE apps. Same
behavior with krusader, konqueror, rekonq and dolphin.
Immediately after establishing a connection with networkmanager FTP
connections are immediate. After letting some time pass the following

Mine was due to a PPA package for KDE stuffs that had a version of a
library and that PPA being disable/unavailable after upgrading. librtm
(or some such thing).
Mine was from a dnjl ppa.
So I removed the offending version from the PPA and installed the
official one and was able to install ia32li
What's the scoop with this?
I'm having this problem today, with an up to date 12.04/KDE.

Having possibly the same type of problem. EcryptFS, Ktorrent hanging
while allocating disk space, causing whichever core it's running on to
spike to 100%, there is no disk activity though. strace tells me
ktorrent stops running right after ftruncate64() call.

path, the internal keyboard, touchpad and bluetooth seem to share the
same USB port via a broadcom hub.

That was is, the theme was oxybird. I had though before it might have
been qt-curve and disabled that and still had the problem, had totally
forgotten about thunderbird theme.

I have this problem with jaunty with an AMD processor. Without VT,
everything is pretty stable, with VT the whole system locks up and
usually kills the guest filesystem along with the lockup.

This is a Dell Studio 15xx series notebook. Just tried with a USB
external keyboard and that works fine. When hitting 2 keys at once both
keys are reported on screen, and no sticking.
Still, given everything else listed in symptoms it seems it would have
to be an X bug, since console and other OS

It is fixed now, it was an infinite loop of failed DNS lookups in the UDP
tracker
The features are missing alltogether, I can configure them with the cups
administration via http://localhost:631, and when printing the options
are available from openoffice, firefox, and kde4/3 applications, but
they can't be setup with the currently included kde printer config tool.

are a lot of options that can't be set, department codes, and private

Tips for reproducing:
click a zip file to browse it's contents, hit the back button, or click
in the address bar to go back to the directory containing the archive
file.
Apparently if you leave the zip going directly to another directory [not
containing the zip file] it won't crash, it also doesn
