Also the first reboot after the latest update caused numerous crashes and error
messages to be reported. I had to just shut down and start again to get logged

application still shows only the wine icon in the launcher and not the
application icon. Is there a plan to fix it before 11.04 release if it
is not yet fixed?
I had installed some software and the application dashboard wasn't
seeming to update, so I logged off and logged in again. It occurred
right after log in.

This occurred again going from apport 1.20.1-0ubuntu4 to apport 1.20.1-0ubuntu5

It did not generate the error report but watching the detail install and
looking at the log file, showed that both apport, and the supporting python
files were 'half configured' again.
I reset /etc/default/apport e
I apologize, I double checked my log, and it did not install and
configure correctly the 2nd time I tried with /etc/default/apport
enable set to 1. Reinstalling it in synaptic with enable as 1 did not
seem to correct it.

I am seeing the same errors on Intrepid with standard updating (not
bleeding-edge) and a Nvidia video card. Running Nvidia drivers and
compiz. I'm seeing hard lock ups on X. Have three so far today and
never saw this happening before today.
Xorg.0.log reports these errors before the hard lockup
After some investigation and testing... it looks like it's related to
the X input devices update I did last night. USB mouse may be causing
it. I am testing this right now by leaving my USB mouse disconnected
and see if it freezes up again.

Well...that patch partially helps. I no longer crash when repeating
keys on either of the monitors connected to my "first" video card.
However, I still crash when repeating keys on both of the monitors
connected to my "second" video card. (The first video card is the one
that has "Screen 0" and "
I have to take that back - I tried it a couple times on that "second
screen" and it worked. Then once I noticed that it was crashing on
screens 3 and 4, I couldn't ever get it to not crash on screen 2. I
have installed jaunty alpha6 from scratch, and am still seeing the crash
on screens 2, 3, and
I am attaching the backtrace from the crash after updating to the
patched version.
