Public bug reported:

After the latest update, which included the latest ubuntu-wallpapers
update for oneiric, and after a reboot, the wallpaper only filled the
right corner of the screen. The rest of the desktop was black. The
screen will not refresh so any windows that are opened and then closed
leave behind a 'ghost image' I will attach screen shots.
