I am using gtk+3.4.1 + 043_ubuntu_menu_proxy.patch through indicator- appmenu 0.3.2 + xfce4-indicator-plugin 0.4.0 on gentoo. The change in 043_ubuntu_menu_proxy.patch from 3.3.6-0ubuntu2 to 3.3.6-0ubuntu3 makes the local menubar to be always visible, although the global menubar works as well. --
