Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pidgin
When the environment variable LANG is set to ko_KR.utf8, pidgin displays all my MSN buddies and groups, but when LANG is set to en_US.utf8, a group and all buddies belonging to it disappear from the buddy list. For example, if I start pidgin with $ env LANG=ko_KR.utf8 pidgin then the buddy list window shows all my MSN buddies and groups. I have three groups whose names are all written in Korean. If I start pidgin with $ env LANG=en_US.utf8 pidgin then one of the three groups disappears from the buddy list window and only the other two are shown. Then, the lost group is restored if I restart pidgin with LANG=ko_KR.utf8. I keep the options Buddies->Show->Offline Buddies and Buddies->Show->Empty Groups enabled in both cases.
