I have a similar problem. I can still change partitions using windows
vista and fdisk but gparted does not recognize my partitions.

It is in Perl. Works fine on my machine. You may do with it whatever you want,
but don't blame me if your PC melts when running it ;D .

I created a new Firefox profile and the problem is solved. It indeed worked
fine with old profile when I used the "standard security" for sign in instead
of the "enhanced security".

Hi, maybe im late to comment. But i just want to sharing because i get this
problem too. I use ubuntu 12.04 and can not shutdown or restart from lightdm.
To fix this i remove lightdm.
in terminal:
sudo aptget purge lightdm unity-greeter
sudo apt-get install lightdm unity-greeter

Step 1. Click to the nautilus icon on unity panel opens new window at home
folder.
Step 2. Choosing a mounted ntfs folder and minimize the windows. Focus to

I have precisely the same symptoms, except I've got a Thinkpad x31
instead. Suspend works fine, unless I've docked my laptop in the
Ultrabay with the dvd drive connected. After ejecting the dock, and
attempting to resume from suspend, I get a black screen and the
inability to do anything about it.
I can also confirm the exact same behavior.

I can confirm this. If I go to
System -> Preferences -> Assistive technologies
and uncheck the "Enabe assistive technologies" button, My Emacs (snapshot-gtk)
starts to behave fine.
The window switch is still perceptibly slower than for other apps
though.

I think I know the reason for the high memory usage, it's the Ubuntu
font. Try to change the fonts in gnome-tweaks → Fonts. Change the
Interface Text, Document Text and Legacy Window Titles to Sans Regular
and Sans Bold, respectively. This is the default sans font.
