I cannot properly test as:
A) I do not have a second 64 bit machine
B) Booting from the LiveCD does not appear to give me proper user permission to
access my network.
Also, I'm using Gutsy - have you simply bypassed Gutsy and are working
only on Hardy ?

GEdit deletes files rather than s
I just installed (full clean install) Hardy 4/27/2008 and STILL have exactly
the same problems.
No fixes were made.

I just installed Hardy full release version and the problem is SOLVED.
Of my handful of issues, this is the only one to be fixed - good job whomever
fixed it ;)

After returning from standby, in the:
System / Administration / Network applcation, Wired Connections / General Tab,
the "Domain" box is empty - when prior to entering standby my domain name was
listed.
I simply go back in and enter the Domain

Since "ubuntu" packages it, YOU(ubuntu) guys should raise the issue with the
Evolution people.
I cannot figure out a simple way to diable the [EMAIL PROTECTED]
process from running at startup.
A) It should be available to those who need it
B) It should NOT be enabled and running by defau

I will try using a live CD but I will need appropriate security to access my
NAS and I don't recall if I can do that from a live CD.
Will keep you posted.
BTW - Jorge, were any development changes made to gedit or am I simply
"trying" something ?

Using a new AMD X2 4600+ cpu(dual core 64 bit) with 1 Gig of 800Mhz DDR2

OpenOffice saves to my Samba drive fine, so does Kate, etc...
