What goes wrong
The sound stops for no reason I can see. I was playing music from a CD with
vlc media player and sound was ok. Later I tried to play an avi file with vlc
picture was fine but no sound. Also other media packages and system sounds
were not working either There was a sound icon

I cant tell you any more than I have. I turned the PC off and when I
rebooted it worked fine. It has happened 2 or 3 times before so chances are
it will happen again and if/when it does I'll get you all the information I
can.
