This problem still exists in precise and may have something to do with
the path that is returned by the file save dialog. For example, if you
double-click a libreoffice file in nautilus, it is possible to make
edits and save the file again. Files opened in this way use a path that
goes through "/ho
Actually I just noticed that a similar problem also happens with smb
mounted shares, however, instead of the "insufficient user rights"
message, a dialog asking for a username and password will pop up. I
think that the underlying problem is the same in this case; libreoffice

Things definitely improved with the new network-manager-gnome package,
but a smaller leak still remains. I'm now seeing an increase of ~1Mb
every 6-8 minutes, compared to several Mb/min.

I should also note that these delays only seem to happen with gvfs-smb.
For example, gvfs-sftp connections are unaffected.

Public bug reported:
After mounting samba shares through gvfs-smbd, e.g. by typing
smb://server/share in the nautilus file manager, I experience occasional
freezes in nautilus lasting anywhere up to 20-30 seconds. During this
time it's not possible to browse folders or open new nautilus instances.
In my case at least some of these crashes seem to be related to the loss
of the gvfsd-sftp mount point where the document was loaded from.
