I have the same laptop (Inspiron 6000) with the i915 intel video card.
I'm running Intrepid Alpha 6, and I have a problem identical to the one

specifically in the intel video driver?
I've attached the log for Xorg.

GNOME Control Center fails to load
Public bug reported:
Sonata 1.2.2 MPD client does not load or display album art. Loading a
local image by right-clicking the album icon and navigating to the album
folder fails. The "open" window doesn't close and the image does not
appear. Trying to use a remote image also results in nothing.
i fixed it on my own. in sonata's preferences, i had my music directory
listed as "/storage/music". however, i have mpd's music directory set
up as "/var/lib/mpd/music/", which is a symlink back to /storage.
changing sonata's music directory to match the one in mpd fixed the
problem.

I can confirm this bug. Installing SLAB from the latest SVN does not
fix the issue. However, I don't think the bug is severe. An annoyance,
but not a showstopper.

Try a fresh installation of 10.04 beta, instead of an upgrade. As Pedro
