htop doesn't display any process consuming that much of memory.
In a Kubuntu 10.04 system with only Firefox running, the swap is now 890
MB full, in Karmic
I can confirm that the integration doesn't work jet, nor with a new
profile.
Maybe there is a dependency that hasn't been added to the package?

After uninstalling ureadahead (and restarting) the very high memory
usage remains. I also installed the Karmic kernel 2.6.31-20 but the
problem remains. So I think that ureadahead and the kernel are not the
problem. But which component is?
I attach a screenshot displaying htop. From the RAM 518 MB
I have the same problem about very high ram and swap usage, and the system
becoming very slow. But removing ureadahead and using the Karmic 2.6.31-20
kernel didn't help, so ureadahead is not the problem in my system.
For this other problem maybe bug 560859 is better.

As the xine backend will be not be maintained any more, when the vlc
backend is ready, it would be nice to see phonon vlc backend packages.
It already works better than the xine backend in some aspects. It has
been reported that the audio quality is also better.[1]

I have also a problem with shortcuts, with the media keys since upgraded
to 12.04, they don't work. But I'm using KDE in Kubuntu. So maybe this
is not a problem in Gnome or Unity, but in a package which both (Ubuntu
& Kubuntu) share.

and it fills my 10 GB root partition (where the /var/ directory is), after that
all programs start to crash.
If I delete those files, /var/log/kern.log and /var/log/syslog the df
