If I install 169.12 from Nvidias hompage everything works fine but when
trying to use "nvidia-glx-new" X.org can't start. It says something
about it can't find any glx module.
Can I turn on a more verbose logging in X and see what the error is?

The repositories are missgin the restricted modules for this kernel so

A big problem with the Gutsy repos has been that sometimes (read often)
the local mirrors (like the swedish one) are "off sync". Sometimes for
days it seems. Chaning to the main repo solved this issue for me.

I found a workaround - use USB keyboard and mouse. Seems like it only
affects PS2-devices.
Maybe, one day I reconnect the PS2 ones to my new Gutsy installation and

At least under Windows, downgrading to 2.0.0.13 solves the issue.
I can not test under Ubuntu as I have upgraded to Hardy (and Firefox 3).
I understand of this issue won't get any attention as Firefox 3 is soon
to released but please remove the incomplete marking.

When I used Gutsy, I had to remove restricted-modules and nvidia-glx-new (as I
needed the latest version).
I instead installed the binary one from Nvidia. After upgrading to Hardy I
removed the driver with the Nvidia binaryh and then installed nvidia-glx-new.

They could. But I use no sent folder as it breaks up the threading and
make it harder to follow.
So sure, it's my workflow that is extra sensitive to this bug - but it's
still a big issue according to me.
I'm happy if I don't need to wait to 8.10.

My harddisk is all pretty cold and should be at "green" but still one is
"yellow". 37 C is NOT enough to get yellow.

Tries it now. I still think it is badly implemented as the color changes
at different tempatures than you have selected (it has some kind of
fuzzy logic) but it works as designed I think.

The kernelconfig is:
HIGMEM64G
and
HIGHMEM
Ubuntu Server is compiled with both these flags but not the desktop
version.
Using more than 4 GB ram has NOTHING to do with 32 vs 63 bit OS. Sure,
one process can use more than 4 GB ram but that is no big issue (yet).
