have you tried to install the "audio lib package for Flash" ? (with synaptic)
I remember this library is not automatically installed with "flash-nonfree"
package.
It fixed my problem with flash and audio under 8.04 LTS...

I got exactly the same problem (I think) with my ATI Radeon 3850 (not
fixed under final version), but my bug has been tagged as "duplicate" of
the "nv bug"...

It's just after the CD boot menu, when I choose a "Try ubuntu" or
"Install Ubuntu".
My hard disk "works" for few seconds after the choice and then my screen

Well, I made a mistake in my bug description :
I really got the "splash screen" after choosing the installation type (in low
resolution).
And the signal is lost just after, when gnome is being loaded (I hear
I've just tried the 64 bits version of Intrepid Ibex, and, big surprise
: it works !!!
Does anyone knows why ? Different version of drivers between 32 and 64
bits ?

Hi,
I've just done another try, and see attached the Xorg log file (from a live
session test).
I've forgotten the lspci command, so it will be for next reboot.
I'll be back soon.

is working fine, if you want to compare things (I don't know if it can

Here an issue (I think) with the last release of Ubuntu 8.10 (Alpha 6),
tested on a machine using Ubuntu 8.04 with no problem.

I just updated my Jaunty this morning, and still having problems with Compiz :
Maximize/restore effect on a window seems to do nothing for 1 sec before the
window will really restore.
I noticed that it was the main effect with this problem,
