Trying with latest nightly build, FF 3 beta 3, FF 2, always the same problem.
However it seams to be pulseaudio support (via libflashsupport) that can be the
culpable.
Killing pulseaudio, libflashsupport will use ALSA as audio output, and firefox

Some results with an intel 855 GM :
With gnome-settings-daemon 2.21.91-0ubuntu6 and gnome-desktop 2:21.92-ubuntu3
gnome-settings-daemon don't crash anymore at startup.
However, gnome-display-properties still crash with a sligthly different
backtrace :

Here is a screenshot showing yelp acting strangely.
As you can, yelp is using 90% of my CPU and 6% of my memory while it is *idle*.
In fact it consume less CPU if i actually use it.
My system : Intel centrino 1600MHz - 1024 Mo RAM
I don't know what else i can provide to help you. Tell me.

There is no need for this support in feisty since it doesn't use anymore
pmount, but gnome-mount, that has been patch to enable this support
so it should works out of the box.

Ok, forget my previous implementation idea, i was confused by the big mess
of the upstream tree. There is of course no apply_configuration in g-s-d, it's a
running daemon (damn i'm stupid). So xrandr_capplet talk to it with Xevents.
So i have an other implementation idea. Why not create an xevent

Is it only GDM that start with the wrong resolution or even gnome ?
If it's only GDM, gnome-display-properties will not help (at least for now)
as it only set the resolution for gnome.
