I think that this is an merely an usability and design issue (it makes
replacing only the older files painful) about an existing feature (the dialog
for replacing a file), it's not an entire new feature itself.

After a clean install, I installed the sawfish window manager via aptitude.
Then, I killed metacity and executed sawfish.
I've done this flawlessly in the 32 bits version of intrepid, but in 64bits I
get this

What if you want to give instructions to teach your friend?
How would you tell him to go to his home folder?

What if the vendor who installed the system to him chose some generic
username to him? what if instead of "Mike" he put
I think this list would be a nice addition.. most extensions and
acronyms I tried in wtf didn't worked, which makes this program pretty
useless.

Audacity is a very important program for anyone who wants to do some
audio editing, it's almost the only alternative for saving in a multi-
channel audio format, but it's not
Really, some applications waste a lot of space in toolbars, menubars,
etc. Being really uncomfortable for small laptops.
This is specially relevant in multimedia applications, like Totem. Such
applications should have more space for the multimedia content and less
for the toolbars.

I'm sure it wouldn't be so hard to change.. it already automatically
detects the filetype when you open an image without extension.
