actually it's more a bug in gtkglext (but maybe also in Qt)
anyway, GTK and Qt can't live happily togather when an RGBA OpenGL context
is used.
I've made a workaround in the 2.3 though, I'd like to have some feedback
from people experiencing this bug.
Thanks! :-)

by the way how is going the update of cairo-dock in Natty ?
there is no news for 2 weeks now :-/
considering the numbers of fixes this version brings (due to changes in
Ubuntu Natty and to bug-fixes), I think it's really important.
Thanks.

thanks for reporting this "bug". Actually it's more a bug on the Ubuntu or
the Gnome side, for having backported such a feature withouth checking that
it wouldn't affect the existing applications. :-/
The question is: is there any way to detect that the grip is present
(currently, we check that we

I know I've once disabled some option like that for apt-get.
anyway, the dock doesn't need it, so we should probably move it to "suggest"
(and add the zeitgeist daemon at the same time)

well as you can see on the Debian packages site, the plug-ins depend on XFCE

we already said many times that this is wrong (the dock does not need any
desktop dependencies, at all)
cairo-dock is desktop -agnostic, and that's done through integration
plug-ins that are dynamically loaded, o
any news on this bug ? have the drivers been updated since then ?
I'm going to invalidate this bug on our side, since it seems clear that it's
not a bug into the Dock, but I hope you guys are still working on it :-)

the dock only uses a gdk_move_resize, so the bug would be in GDK, but I
don't think so.
for me, it's the WM's job to correctly handle a move+resize event. if Compiz
can do it, there is obviously a correct way to do it, don't you think so ?

can sonemone confirm it also occurs with the cairo backend (that's to say
the xrender one), using "cairo-dock -c" ?
thanks !

hmm, I think we were talking of a different bug ^^
I was talking about the flickering we get when a window is move_resized
(this is a very brief flicker, and is most probably due to a bad refresh of
the window from the WM, the old window's content being drawn on the larger
window).
It's much harder

thanks for reporting it.
It seems now that only ATI cards have this bug.
do you have it in cairo mode (non-opengl) ?

Hi,
I can add the following information:
the dock browses recursively the URI trash:/ and gets the size of each file,
using g_file_enumerate_children with G_FILE_QUERY_INFO_NOFOLLOW_SYMLINKS.
I've personnally noticed that the whole process takes a lot of time when
there are a lot of files, wherea

do you have the same problem using Nautilus ?

hmm, hard to say if the system is broken or if the dock is. I have a Intel
945 graphic card under Karmic, and have no problem so far.
so "cairo-dock -c" is working fine, but "cairo-dock -o" is not ? what if you
deactivate some applets (especially Scooby-Do which is unstable)

I'm afraid this is a bug in the Intel drivers.
Could you please link this bug to them, so that they can investigate it ?
Thanks !

Hi,
it seems you are using Metacity without composite. that's not a problem, but
I have a netbook with an Intel graphic chip, and I can use the dock with
opengl and composite (it's very smooth).
if you're using fake transparency, could you try without ? also could you
try with composite activated ?
Forgot one point:
could you also try to change the hiding effect ?
