I'm sorry but where does it concern the dock ?
I suggest you try both free and proprietary drivers for ATI, and if none works,
that you report the bug to the driver devs or to the Ubuntu devs.

That's plain stupid, since you already get a window for confirmation.
And if you use it from the terminal (with -f or -c option), you can easily see
any warnings in the outputs.
A simple solution

why is the plug-ins version 2.3.0 ? it should be 2.4.0, as the core.
both core and plug-ins must be of the same version, that's why the
compilation fails.

Hi again ^_^
I'll let Matttbe explain in details, but one of the main problems is the
dependencies.
the dependencies list of the Debian package is just ridiculous (see my
previous mail for the exact list -- by the way for the 2.4 upower has been
added).
this is a very big problem, as many people wo
Hi,
Cairo-Dock does not depend on indicator-me, it only has a dependency to
libindicator.
Here is the complete list of dependencies (taken from the wiki):
- For compiling:
cmake make pkg-config gcc gettext build-essential
- For the core:
libxxf86vm-dev libxtst-dev libx11-dev libgtkgle
+1 here for the glitch, and +1 for the ctrl+alt+shift+arrow
nVidia 7300, proprietary drivers, Unity disabled

Considering the number of people who are lost with this lack of icons in the
menus (not to mention that all the other OS have icons in their menus), I
think it can be considered as a bug.
But that's another problem, and does not concern Cairo-Dock ^^
So problem solved for us, since we now activate
I think we can invalidate this bug on our side.
I've noticed it sometimes too, and doing a "compiz --replace&" always fixes it.

ok so not a problem in the plug-ins.
since cairo-dock -c works fine, I'm thinking of a problem with the drivers
under Karmic.
could you please run in debug mode (cairo-dock -o -l debug > log.txt) and
post here the content of log.txt ? thanks !

thanks for the debug trace !
so the line that crashees is the following:
gdk_display_get_pointer (gdk_display_get_default(), NULL, &x, &y, NULL);
I can't imagine in which way this function could crash (it's only a wrapper
to X functions)
so either we have a complete mess in the program's memory, o
the new "panel" view is designed to solve this problem.
