Tried to install Ubuntu Studio 16.04 LTS in Japanese with German
keyboard. The installation Crashed (repeatedly)

This was fixed by removing a faulty RAM stick. I would not call the bug
solved though, since the error message didn´t even mention the
possibility that that vcould be the problem (found that tip way down in
a Ubuntu help thread somewhere).

error message said something about cd/dvd write error (no matter if the
installation was from usb or dvd), and possibly a bad target hdd.
Perhaps correcting/adding to this error message would be an easy "fix" ?
PS. Bodhi linux installed without a problem even with the faulty RAM stick
still at
