I think I just entered a duplicate of this bug..
I was having an issue with Lotus Notes (which runs on eclipse) and using
the New Wave theme .. was taking 100% of the CPU on a single processor
when doing tasks within Lotus Notes..
For the hell of it I changed the theme, and it started working and
I changed the theme back to the default theme and the issue seem to be
resolved. Maybe an eclipse + new wave bug? (new wave was the theme I was
using).
Now I'm using Human Clearlooks with Mist + colour changes and all is
good.

The issue is with the Kernel and not the NVIDIA or Compiz version..
I have not yet tried the newest Beta NVIDIA driver (to see if there is a

Yes, as linked in my original posting with the code it is from NVIDIA.
Why should it be fixed in the NVIDIA driver when the problem is the
kernel? The regression was from the kernel and PAT isn't functioning
correctly in general.

The above "work around" isn't really a fix. It's just using the native
2.17.1 gtk libs for Lotus Notes. But yes, I think it's an acceptable
workaround (as opposed to patching GNOME) for this issue until it's
resolved by IBM's Lotus Notes Team.
The upstream report is filed under:

The issue was because of gtk2 theme of New Wave.. issues have been
