I have recently upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 from Feisty Fawn through internet.
While trying to startup/boot in recovery mode I got instruction to run
apt-get autoremove libnss3-0d which i did.I also keep getting the following
error messages

I was able to run apt-get update in terminal of one user after having
completion of startup. The error reports furnished by me were encountered
during startup in recovery mode wherein i ran apt-get update in terminal.
However symptoms reported still persist.
The disappeara
the symptoms detailed by me show up when i boot the system in Ubuntu
8.04,1 , kernel 2.6.24.19. But when i select to boot in Ubuntu 8.04,1 ,
kernel 2.6.22.14 all the symptoms disappear. what is wrong with kernel
2.6.24.19

Removed flashplugin-nonfree.
Downloaded Alpha refresh of Adobe's Flash player 10i.e.
libflashplayer-10.0.d21.1.linux-x86_64.so.tar.gz on desktop and after
extraction got libflashplayer.so as per instructions on Adobe website.
Copied libflashplayer.so to ~/.mozilla/plugins after creating
I just installed the updates on my Ubuntu 8.10. After that the problem
has not occured. May be it will help in other cases too.

i solved my problem using the workaround suggested by revoltism. i moved
the image file to my home folder and that is it
