Same problem here. I cannot empty a single mail from the trash folder
since the migration to Intrepid Ibex.
I face no evolution crash.
When emptying the trash (Right clicking on it), I get a lot of traces
from evolution like:

1. put evolution in
I'll have to go back at home, uninstall the NVidia driver, reinstall the
linux-restricted-modules.

The above provided information was obtained after I uninstalled the native
NVidia driver (Which works fine) using:
$ sudo sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-173.14.05-pkg1.run --uninstall
and re-installed the restricted and nvidia related modules from ubuntu.

After another update, I am back in a cycle where nothing using nvidia
drivers works: Ugly fail safe screen.
I tried to uninstall / reinstall the driver from NVidia, It doesn't work
anymore.
I tried to uninstall it and re-install the nvidia driver the ubuntu way:

Thanks for this answer, but what is the fix? Additional manual clean up?
And there is a problem with the migration process anyway since I
switched to the original NVidia driver because an update in the kernel
or something else by the Ubuntu auto update mechanism messed up the
Ubuntu restricted NVi

I tried a later version included in kernel 2.6.24-rc8. Behaviour is
better but the connection still fails on heavy loads (Like using
backuppc on wifi). The connection drops after a while and reloading the
module is the only option (rmmod iwl4965; modprobe iwl4965).
