included but as stated the mimetype output by xvidenc is not valid for
muxing into mp4 with ffmux_mp4 or qtmux (which is another bug that needs
to be fixed upstream).

The other upstream issue is fixing xvidenc to act as a drop-in
replacement for ffmux_mp4 by providing the same stream type
(video/mpeg4). It is unrelated to this bug so consider this the last

Just a little more info, I tried to type in most of the output when
booting without the "quiet" and "splash" options. It eventually dumps me
into a Busybox shell from the initramfs but I couldn't figure out how to
save any of the output.

from the live cd (it just sits after the kernel null pointer crashes
modprobe or something, but eventually boots). When it finally boots I

Confirmed on the most current Edgy kernel and also on yesterday's Feisty
daily live cd. This bug NEEDS to get fixed. I can't use any recent
kernels or live cds because of it and the bug has been open for a long

A fix to catch and continue after the error is now in trunk. It seems to
be some GStreamer issue where no videocaps object is set for the video
stream - I've never run into this. At least now it should work.

installed at all. grepping for ffm should have returned a *lot* of
entries if it was installed. I would try to re-install it and see if any
errors are thrown. This is also an upstream issue, so if that doesn't

development release (Maverick) - are you using that instead of Lucid
(10.04)?

When I was first researching the PSP options I noticed that each
firmware version is a crapshoot about what formats, resolutions and
features are supported. When testing video conversions please always
update to the latest available firmware for your PSP and you'll have the
best luck of getting it

Careful. Above commands caused my display to not work and I had to
reboot into an older kernel selected in grub to get things working
again. It does NOT fix the issue for me. I'm on a ~2007 Macbook. Also,
the kernel you mention in your post does not exist in your repository!

Ah I should have mentioned I did install
2.6.38-8-generic_2.6.38-8.42~lp686388 for i386 and the associated linux-
image-generic, linux-generic, linux-libc-dev. That's the one that caused
the issue. I tried booting both with an external monitor attached and
without an external monitor. Bug #749784 i
